Bill Ottman, Founder and CEO of Minds returns to the podcast and we welcome Daryl Davis who recently joined the team at Minds as they unveil their Deradicalization Initiative (www.minds.com).
Davis, an accomplished R&B musician, has been passionate about deradicalization for decades, documenting his journey of reaching to the other side in his 1998 book, Klan-destine Relationships: A Black Man's Odyssey in the Ku Klux Klan. Minds.com is on the forefront of making the Internet a more tolerant place, recently having a successful dialogue about race, politics, and other challenging topics at their Minds IRL event in New Jersey earlier this year.
Minds offers its users unlimited reach and the ability to earn points, a form of digital currency, just for using the app. Points are then used to ‘Boost’ posts to wider audiences. Every upload, vote, swipe and ‘Remind’ (share) earns points that are stored in each user’s wallet. Users may then send offers of points to other users, peer-to-peer, in exchange for shares of their content to those audiences. Or, users can Boost content site-wide by exchanging their points with Minds for increased views.
